MB 251 – General Microbiology (H)
For this course, my Honors project consisted of my team developing an interactive presentation exploring how marine microbes contribute to modern drug discovery. Researching antimicrobial and anticancer compounds derived from organisms such as Salinispora and Streptomyces expanded my understanding of microbiology as a foundation for translational medicine. Designing an outreach-focused module required synthesizing primary literature into an accurate and engaging format suitable for a public audience.
Microbiology Honors Presentation – Micro World Investigate Lab
(NC Museum of Natural Sciences)
This presentation reflects my ability to translate microbiological concepts into engaging, public-facing science communication. Presenting in a museum setting required clarity, adaptability, and audience awareness. It strengthened my confidence in outreach and reinforced the responsibility scientists have to make research accessible.
