My involvement in the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) has strengthened both my professional development and my connection to the broader veterinary community at NC State. Through club meetings, hands-on laboratories, and service events, I gained exposure to clinical skills such as medication administration while engaging with peers pursuing similar career goals.
I was honored to receive both the Outstanding Excellence in Research Award and the Outstanding Excellence in Animal Experience Award, selected by fellow members. These recognitions reflected not only my research involvement but also my commitment to consistent engagement within the pre-veterinary community. Through PVMA and NC State’s Veterinary Professions Advising Center (VetPAC), I was invited to serve as a guest speaker for the Fall Seminar Series, where I shared my undergraduate research experiences and offered guidance to students beginning their research journeys.
PVMA also provided opportunities to contribute beyond campus. During the 2024 American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (APVMA) Conference hosted in North Carolina, I served as a lab assistant and volunteer, supporting a swine management and venipuncture session and assisting with event coordination. These experiences reinforced the value of mentorship, service, and professional collaboration within veterinary medicine.
