My work in exotic animal research expanded my understanding of veterinary science beyond traditional companion and production species. I contributed to experimental trials developing anesthesia and euthanasia protocols in jellyfish by monitoring physiological responses and documenting outcomes across exposure groups. I also assisted in reptile sedation studies involving corn snakes, collecting temperature, pulse, and respiration data, supporting blood collection, and assessing post-sedation recovery patterns.
This experience strengthened my adaptability in research settings and deepened my appreciation for species-specific physiology. Working with nontraditional models required careful observation, patience, and procedural precision, reinforcing that rigorous methodology applies across the discipline of research.
